Applied Behavioral Analysis
Applied behavioral analysis (ABA) is a key component of the treatment programs at EMIT Therapeutics. Many healthcare professionals, treatment clinics, and schools recognize that this approach is an effective way to address the needs of those with an autism spectrum disorder. With the help of applied behavioral analysis, we can encourage your child’s positive behaviors and redirect negative behaviors. It also allows us to track and measure your child’s process and improve a variety of skills, including:
-
Speech
-
Communication
-
Social skills
-
Behavioral challenges
Individual Therapy Program
Individual therapy for autism helps address challenges that neurodiverse children face every day and teaches coping mechanisms based on their individual needs. Every person with autism has a unique set of strengths and challenges. Individual therapy is a place they can build on those strengths and find ways to meet the challenges. To learn more please call EMIT Therapeutics today at 908.376.6278.
Social Skills Training
Often, children with autism struggle to engage socially. This lack of social engagement may lead to isolation, misunderstanding, and hurt feelings for your child and others. Sometimes missing social cues may make it difficult for your child to self-advocate and connect with their community. This lack of connection may lead to bullying or teasing. These stressors take a toll on the whole family, and it may seem overwhelming to find the right autism therapy program to support your family. Autism is a lifelong disorder affecting cognitive functioning, social skills, and behavior. However, early childhood autism social skills training therapy can offer children and their families support.
At EMIT Therapeutics, we’re proud to provide treatment for children with autism. We offer in-home social skills autism therapy for children from 1.5 to 18 years of age and their families across New Jersey. Learn more about our social skills training by calling us today at 908.376.6278.
Parent Training & Development
When many parents get the news that their child has autism, they feel overwhelmed. They don’t feel like they have the tools to parent their child correctly, and because every child is unique, their child’s condition may appear complicated. Fortunately, there are more resources available for parents than ever before. At EMIT Therapeutics, we want to equip you with whatever parenting skills you need to set your child up for success. Our autism parent training program is an excellent tool that we use to prepare you and your partner for the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead. Functional Skills Training
Often, children with autism have trouble with day-to-day functional skills such as how to say ‘no’ or making a decision between two activities. Others have difficulty with self-care or daily tasks such as laundry, cooking, or understanding money. This struggle may lead to misunderstandings, frustration, and problems connecting with others as a child struggles to express their needs or practice a physical skill. Sometimes, it becomes difficult for a child to self-advocate or feel they can perform activities on their own.
This lack of independence can cause stress for the whole family, and it’s not always easy finding the right autism therapy programs to fit a child’s needs. While autism may seem overwhelming, early childhood autism functional skills training therapy can offer children and their families support to prepare children for an engaging, healthy, independent future.
When you reach out to EMIT Therapeutics, we offer in-home functional skills autism therapy for children from 1.5 to 18 years of age and their families across New Jersey. Learn more about our functional skills training by calling us today a 908.376.6278.
Early Intervention Treatment
When your child receives treatment for autism spectrum disorder in the early part of their childhood, they are better able to cope with the challenges of life. One of the best possible ways to set your child up for success is to seek early intervention treatment for autism.
We implement our early intervention treatment at or before your child begins preschool. We can apply this treatment as early as 15 months or 3 years old. During this time, your child’s brain is still developing, so our treatment options can be more effective for longer periods of time. These treatment options give your child the best possible start and allow them to grow to their fullest potential.
Speech Therapy Programs
Communication is one of the most significant challenges facing children with autism. Whether your child struggles to understand body language, voice their needs, or read facial expressions, a speech therapy program can help children of all ages develop strong communication skills and reduce social anxiety. Children who undergo autism speech therapy are more readily able to converse with peers, initiate conversation, understand other’s intentions, and know when to greet people with phrases such as “good morning” and “goodnight.” These children also develop use and understanding of melody and voice when speaking and reading aloud.
While autism is usually evident before age 3, language delays and communication difficulties can appear as early as ten months of age. Speech therapy programs vary and provide a wide range of individualized therapy programs for children struggling with language and communication.
At EMIT Therapeutics, we offer in-home autism therapy for children from 1.5 to 18 years of age and their families across the state of New Jersey. Learn more about our speech therapy by calling us today at 908.376.6278.
Family Therapy Programs
Autism spectrum disorders affect families, so it makes sense that there would be therapy for them as a group. The impairments associated with autism can impact relationships, and those relationships, in turn, impact behaviors. A family therapy program for autism puts everyone together to set goals and face challenges. To access this treatment option, please call EMIT Therapeutics today at 908.376.6278.
